Well guys, things haven’t been going the way I expected or hoped for.
I got over my cold and gout flare up since the beginning of the year, but my feet haven’t been the same since. My feet have been feeling stiff and not fully flexible, so percentage-wise about 90%. To make matters worse, I stubbed my small toes about 1.5 weeks ago and it’s still not totally healed. And this morning I woke up to a minor flare up on my right big toe because I drank 2 cups of an Aloe Vera drink last night. I did look at the nutritional value label on the back of the drink, and it didn’t look too bad so I bought it. The daily serving size was 16% daily value of added sugars for 8 ounces, so I didn’t think it would affect me too much but unfortunately it did. But then again, I think I drank more than 2 serving sizes.
This health situation is new to me. I’m worried my feet may not get back to normal. Will my feet be stiff all the time going forward, or will I need to take medication daily to feel normal again? I pray it gets back to normal. I miss exercising and playing sports with my kids. Plus I don’t want to be dependent on drugs.
I think my gout diet plan has been good for the most part, but I probably need to drop the sweets altogether. I been a bit laxed with it, and everytime I do, I end up paying the price.
My current diet:
- Limit alcohol intake. I cut down a lot. I only drank 3 times since the end of December 2023.
- Try to avoid sweets/sugar. I still eat fruits, but I try to avoid any kind of desserts, candies or sweet beverages.
- Limit seafood intake. I still eat a healthy portion of seafood and it makes my feet a little stiff, but I don’t think it affects me nearly as much as sweets.
- I eat all meats with no restrictions. So far, it’s been ok for me.
- No limitations on veggies and fruits.
- No limitations on dairy.
